Monologue Text
Do you want me to apologize? Want me to say that I cared for your talent first and then your looks and then you? Want me to recount how you showed me your magic and I thought that your power could be our power could be my power? That I thought, finally, here is a place where I can be safe? Do you want me to transform into that soft and pathetic tutor and tell you all the ways I wish I could melt into your arms and escape from this wretched world?
Better yet, let me say how I feared you! How you turned to bloodshed with not a shred of regret. How I would toss with nightmares of all we had done and you would hold me close and tell me that these things fade. I am here in the house of fading and it hasn’t, Medea! You promised things would be okay and they never became okay. I look at our son and I see all of our sins walking to face us.
